"come again, even in November,"
"Little Prayer in November" - Lee Rudolph | Olipop Crisp Apple | Burberry Women
Poem
"Little Prayer in November" - Lee Rudolph
That I am alive, I thank
no one in particular;
and yet am thankful, mostly,
although I frame no prayer
but this one: Creator
Spirit, as you have come,
come again, even in November,
on these short days, fogbound.
Beverage
Olipop Crisp Apple
This is a very mild Olipop, not too sweet and more like a light sparkling apple juice. It plays nicely in my favorite little tart cherry juice and magnesium cocktail, but the apple flavor is pretty easily overpowered by the cherry juice.
Scent
Burberry Women
The bottle of this I wear is at least ten years old, and I think there might have been a reformulation in that time. So I can't promise this is accessible in the store. The notes listed online are like fruity, peachy, fresh, and for me, this is like a big sandalwood event. But that might just be me. I love the musk on this. I first started wearing it after an era of Gap Om, which is also musk and incense, and the Burberry was a simple "real perfume" step up. I received a bottle of Burberry as a gift around 2008, wore it through college, and replaced the bottle in my 20s sometime. The scent is so warm and cozy, and I still really love to wear it this time of year, especially. And so, when I pull out my hats and scarves, this is clinging to them already. Then I'll do a little extra spritz for the road.

Other notes
I went to another "Meet the Winemaker" event at the wine store this weekend, but there was like four layers of people trying to translate French off-the-cuff, so there was not the same potential for thoughtful quotable conversation, but it was still a delight.
